Description of Work
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Nurse Consultant-Educator in ensuring compliance with the Nursing Practice Act ICF/IID standards OSHA regulations and Department of Health and Human Services policies. The role supports the development of educational materials training curricula and instructional sessions for nursing staff. It also assists in developing and revising policies and standards to ensure safe competent nursing care for more than 200 individuals with intellectual disabilities and acute or chronic medical conditions. The position helps establish evidence-based clinical policies and procedures in response to changing technology and medical needs including direct observation of clinical services. Additionally it supports the Nurse Supervisor in data collection quality improvement monitoring and implementation of policies and procedures.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Recruitment Range: $58898.00 - $88348.00

This position requires thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles medical terminology disease processes medications and the laws and regulations governing nursing care.
It also requires strong understanding of agency and program philosophies policies procedures and formal training programs.
The role demands the ability to apply sound judgment in assessing training needs and evaluating educational programs.
Strong skills are needed to develop course outlines and lesson plans and to clearly communicate information verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
Superior technical writing computer skills and completion of all required clinical competency and credentialing requirements (including medication administration CPR and CP) are essential.
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government including the judicial system or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency
DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
