The Eagle River Water & Sanitation District is seeking a hands-on mechanically proficient Utility Services Technician to support our meter services team and related customer-facing field this role youll work closely with customers plumbers contractors and internal crews to coordinate inspections meter work troubleshooting and compliance activities. The Day to Day:This rolewill be full of a variety of mechanical technical and administrative following summarizes the main duties and responsibilities of this role.

  • Meter Services:Perform various technical and mechanical activities associated with installation repair and maintenance oftheDistrictsadvanced metering infrastructure (AMI).Install test troubleshootmaintain repair read and program residentialand commercialwater metersand AMI components(e.g. radio endpoints register modules wiring data collectors repeaters).Inspect new and existing meter assemblies and service connections for compliance and update the CIS system to ensureaccuratecustomer and asset data.
  • Customer Service:Professionally interact with customersregardingmeter readings construction projects delinquent accounts and other to customersregardingwater service status and perform service disconnections and reconnections in cases of customer-owned curb stops ofvarious sizesand collect GPS location.
  • Administration:Maintainsrecords of work performed byutilizingthe Customer Information System (CIS) Infinity and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Cityworksor other software programs.
  • Teamwork:Demonstratesa willingness to work independentlyand in ateam environment with a strong work ethic integrity and positive attitude.
  • Safety:Follow district safety standards. Follows all District safety and security policies and wear personal protective equipment as required by the job duties


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • ColoradoWaterDistribution be able to obtain ColoradoWaterDistributionSystemOperatorI andWastewaterCollectionSystemOperatorI certifications withinone yearof employment.
  • American Society of Sanitary Engineering (ASSE)5110 -Backflow Prevention Assembly Testercertificationrequiredwithinone yearof employment.
  • Residentialand commercialplumbing experience is beneficial.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand toolspreferred.
  • Computerproficiencyrequired including basic Microsoft Office skills including Word Outlook PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Mustpossessa validColoradodrivers license or the ability to get one within 30 days of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid Certificationrequiredwithin the first six months of employment.

ScheduleThis role will be scheduled to workMonday Friday7:00am 3:30pm8-hour schedulemay besubject to change based on operational needs.

Salary Range

We support employee growth through a structured career progression. The Utility Services Technician role includes four levelsTechnician I II III and Senioreach with increasing responsibility certification requirements and pay ranges based on experience knowledge skills and abilities. Starting placement is based on qualifications and typically falls between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable range. Pay ranges are posted from the minimum to the maximum of pay range.

  • Utility Services Technician I: $27.74 $38.83
  • Utility Services Technician II: $30.58 $42.82
  • Utility Services Technician III: $32.11 $44.96
  • Senior Utility Services Technician: $37.18 $52.05
