Major Responsibilities

• Creates batches for reference laboratory. Prepares samples to go to reference laboratory for testing.
• Receives specimens from couriers/transport personnel and readies them for analysis. Receives site batches as necessary.
• Places samples in correct rack for placement on analyzers.
• Responsible for adding on tests for existing samples.
• Responsible for test cancelation requests.
• Answers phone in a professional manner and provides information for our customers.
• Prepares and transmits reports accurately for customers.
• Performs laboratory testing under the direct supervision of the Charge Technologist upon completion of training and competency evaluation to include but not limited to the following:
• Urine dipstick testing.
• Stool occult blood testing.
• Kit testing. Ex: rapid strep pregnancy etc.
• Draws blood specimens from patients. (Webster Campus only).
• Helps in any department that may require assistance.
• Performs other related duties as directed by Supervisor.

• High School Degree preferred with strong background in the sciences.

• Previous experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
