The School of Hospitality and Tourism (H&T) is hiring a full-time permanent Food Service Worker Back of House. This position will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchens including cleaning dishes cookware and utensils. This role is essential to supporting our operational portfolio of world-class live-classroom venues and the culinary experiences portfolio (i.e. weddings; socials; corporate events; culinary experiences that may be similar to a team-building). The Food Service Workers ensure a safe clean environment for food preparation and assist with other kitchen tasks as needed making this a vital team position.

Our faculty students and staff run the Highwood Kitchen Bar Tastemarket Canadian Kitchen; Culinary Campus International Market 4Nines Diner and Destinations Travel Centre. We also create and execute several events to support student experience and drive additional revenue opportunities for the school.

How youll contribute

    • Cleaning of kitchen equipment hand washing of dishes operating dishwasher and overall maintaining a high level of safety and sanitation standards
    • Deep cleaning of all equipment
    • Knowledge of menu items and preparation methods
    • Food preparation
    • Packaging of prepared foods labeling & pricing
    • Assist with the opening and closing duties of the outlet
    • Assume related duties as required
