Job Summary

Position Summary:

Deaconess Health System is seeking a highly motivated Outpatient Psychiatrist to help grow outpatient behavioral health services in Hopkinsville KY. This role offers strong clinical and administrative support in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Compensation & Benefits:

Year 1 guaranteed base salary: $350000
Sign-on bonus: $75000
Additional earning potential: Psychiatrists typically earn $400000$500000 based on productivity

Practice Setting:

This outpatient role focuses on psychiatric evaluation medication management and ongoing treatment in a team-based setting that includes:

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs)
Licensed therapists providing individual outpatient services

Key Responsibilities:

Perform psychiatric assessments and diagnose mental health conditions
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans
Provide medication management and follow-up care
Collaborate with PMHNPs therapists and nursing staff
Supervise PMHNPs as needed
Provide co-signatures for therapists
Maintain accurate EMR documentation
Participate in case conferences and quality initiatives
Follow ethical legal and regulatory standards

Call Responsibilities:

Jennie Stuart Medical Center operates a 12-bed adult inpatient behavioral health unit.

Weeknight call: approx. once every 2 weeks (5:00 p.m. 8:00 a.m.)
Weekend call: approx. 1 in 6 weekends
Duties include intake triage admission orders and inpatient rounding on weekends

Qualifications:

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (MD or DO)
Eligible for Kentucky medical licensure
Outpatient psychiatry experience preferred
Strong communication and teamwork skills
