Job Duties and Responsibilties:

The Archives Project Assistant is responsible for project-based archival activities for Uluulu: The Henry

Kuualoha Giugni Moving Image Archive of Hawaii.

  • Provide assistance for archival processing projects including survey inspection rehousing and inventory of videotape and film collections
  • Provide assistance for various digital archival projects projects
  • Perform technical and descriptive metadata entry into content management database
  • Perform various clerical duties to maintain project files and reporting
  • Provide administrative support for general archive operations and collection management
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree and 1 year of professional experience in an academic library
  2. or archival setting; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  3. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  4. Knowledge of the film and video production process and materials associated with a production.
  5. Knowledge of Hawaiian media history culture and language.
  6. Experience in a collaborative and collegial setting.
  7. Productive attitude and enthusiasm for an innovative and changing environment.
