The GIS Analyst II position in the City of Tucsons Information Technology Department supports the enterprise GIS program by developing maps applications dashboards and spatial datasets that enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making. The role performs spatial analysis maintains geospatial data builds automated workflows and collaborates with stakeholders to deliver accurate compliant and user-friendly GIS solutions aligned with City standards.
Work is performed under the supervision of the IT Manager. This position does not supervise.
Develops maintains and documents geospatial datasets that support operational and strategic needs across City departments.
Creates and maintains ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise maps dashboards and applications with attention to usability accessibility and data accuracy.
Performs spatial analysis and geoprocessing to support planning decision-making and reporting workflows.
Builds and maintains automated data workflows to ensure consistent accurate and high-quality GIS data. Troubleshoots GIS applications data pipelines and services providing technical support to internal users.
Applies City data governance standards including metadata classification retention and quality requirements in all GIS products.
Collaborates with departmental staff to understand business needs and translate them into effective GIS solutions.
Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
