The Emergency Room Manager provides clinical and operational leadership for a high-volume emergency department. This role oversees patient care delivery staff performance financial stewardship regulatory compliance and interdisciplinary coordination across the emergency services continuum.
The ER Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the emergency department ensuring high-quality patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with clinical standards regulatory requirements and organizational goals. This leader serves as a professional role model clinical resource and liaison between nursing staff medical staff and hospital leadership.
Provide leadership and management for the emergency services department across clinical financial environmental and human resource functions.
Oversee patient care delivery across the continuum of emergency services.
Act as a clinical resource and professional role model for staff and serve as a liaison with medical providers.
Maintain departmental operations within budgetary guidelines and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Integrate emergency department services with overall hospital operations and collaborate with other departments.
Develop implement and evaluate departmental policies and procedures to support safe and effective care delivery.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and verify staff qualifications and competencies meet patient care needs.
Hire orient train and evaluate staff; oversee ongoing education performance management disciplinary actions and terminations as needed.
Communicate departmental and organizational updates to staff and ensure transparency at all levels.
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Emergency Department Charge RN experience (within the past year); strong ED background required.
Registered Nurse (RN) active license required.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 90 days of hire
Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 1 year of hire
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within 1 year of hire
Reports to: Emergency Department Director

Annual volume: 63000 visits (average 180 patients per day)
