Sir Lines-A-Lot provides traffic control and pavement markings on roads and parking lot. We take pride in the quality of our work value the safety of our employees and work with integrity as a team. We currently have offices in Minnesota South Dakota North Dakota and Iowa. This position will be in person at our Minneapolis office with the ability to train and work out of our St. Michael office as needed.
This position reports to the Payroll Lead and is primarily responsible for assisting in weekly payroll and certified payroll processing and reporting. It requires tracking of payroll details to ensure employees are paid correctly each week generating and validating certified payroll reports and responding to inquiries by employees prime contractors or government contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the timely completion of weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees
- Review timecards for accuracy and work with employees to make necessary adjustments
- Ensure copies of all payroll reports and backup for payroll are available and accurate
- Maintain the employee benefit tracking spreadsheet for Warning Lite employees
- Determine calculation of PW-COP employer rate updating as employees benefit elections change and coordinate with the corporate office
- Enter prevailing wage schedules into the COINS system and identify the correct rate for each prevailing wage job
- Learn all methods of submitting certified payroll reports for all states (Aashtoware WI CPR site LCP Tracker and MNDOT form via email) submit payroll reports weekly for the previous weeks work
- Maintain certified payroll tracking spreadsheet so the status of each report is known at any time
- Maintain all correspondence with employees prime contractors and government contacts regarding payroll and certified payroll reports
- Monitor the payroll email and respond to/resolve each item in a timely manner
- Resolve any discrepancies on payroll or certified payroll reports
- Support HR with onboarding of new hires as needed
- Assist with EEO reporting guidelines
- Assist with recruiting efforts yearly benefit enrollment and drug screening as needed
- Learn all necessary functions to provide backup for the Payroll Lead
Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent; associate or bachelors degree preferred
- Regular attendance in the office required
- Highway or construction office experience preferred
- 4 years of experience in processing payroll
- 2 years of experience with certified payroll reporting preferred
- High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
