Location: Remote - Ideally based within the South West for ease of training (role remains remote daytoday with access to working hubs).

Hours: Part-time 24 hours please state your preferred working pattern in your application.

Start Date: ASAP ideally before 1st March 2026.

Salary: FTE 32-35k per annum (up to 21k pro rata).

Term: Permanent.

Reports to: Head of People.
Company Size: 65 employees with strong growth plans.

Role Overview

City Science is a fastgrowing forwardthinking organisation that has brought its People function inhouse within the last two years. We are continuing to build an effective practical and scalable People offering that truly suits our organisation and as part of that we are expanding our team with a brandnew role: People Team Advisor.

The People Team Advisor will provide handson comprehensive support across the full breadth of People activities. Its an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fastpaced environment can manage competing priorities and enjoys moving between operational tasks and improvement-focused projects.
We are looking for someone intuitive solutionfocused and professionalsomeone who helps managers and employees grow rather than acting as a crutch.

Key Responsibilities

People Administration & Operations

  • Deliver efficient daytoday People administration across the employee lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity across systems including BrightHR.

  • Support the Finance team by providing accurate and timely payrollrelated information.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage fullcycle recruitment through Recruitee supporting City Sciences goal of eliminating external agencies.

  • Lead advertising screening interviewing and offer processes.

  • Support onboarding to ensure a smooth and positive newstarter experience.

Employee Relations & Wellbeing

  • Provide balanced supportive guidance to employees and managers on a range of People matters.

  • Assist with employee relations concerns in a fair pragmatic and solutionfocused manner.

  • Contribute to wellbeing initiatives and help foster a positive supportive culture.

Line Manager Support

  • Coach and empower line managers to build confidence and capability in handling daytoday People matters.

  • Encourage proactive developmental approaches that reduce dependency on the People team.

People Projects & Process Improvement

  • Support the development and refinement of People processes that suit a fastgrowing scaling organisation.

  • Identify improvement opportunities that are efficient practical and appropriate for where the organisation is today.

  • Help build a People function that is fitforpurpose rather than overly policydriven or bureaucratic.

  • Work closely with and support the Head of People on development projects people initiatives and process improvements as and when required contributing to both strategic and operational progress.

Job requirements

Experience supporting a similar sized organisation either in a small People team or in a standalone role.

Ability to work autonomously using initiative and sound judgement without step by step guidance.

Comfortable managing shifting priorities and working at pace in a dynamic environment.

Professional intuitive and supportive with strong people skills.

A doer mindsetefficient proactive and improvement focused.

Broad HR generalist experience (not a single specialism background).

Strong IT skills with experience using HR/ATS systems (BrightHR and Recruitee advantageous).

CIPD qualification not required; equivalent professional experience is more valuable.
