Job Summary

Rex is Australias largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of Saab 340 to more than 50 destinations throughout all states in addition to the airline Rex the Rex Group comprises wholly owned subsidiaries the Australian Airline Pilot Academy with campuses in Wagga Wagga and Ballarat and AAPM a propeller maintenance organisation in Melbourne.

An opportunity exists for suitably qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join Regional Express in the role of Flight Simulator Technician. This is a full-time position located at Wagga Wagga NSW.

You will apply your technical skills and knowledge to provide simulator technical services for our flight simulators based at Wagga and Ballarat.

Position responsibilities;

  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks on the simulator and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulator and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilise a Maintenance Management System to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Complete all designated training activities.
  • Actively pursue continued professional growth and training.
  • Run and evaluate required CASA approved Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
  • Assist with CASA recurrent evaluations.
  • Perform pre-flight and post flight checks on all simulators.
  • Perform visual alignments.
  • Perform software changes to correct problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with the Rex Group Quality Management System.
  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Perform logistics duties including parts received repair and testing/validation.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
  • Undertaking a range of scheduled and ad hoc maintenance tasks.
  • Provide technical support to simulator upgrade projects.
  • Play an active role in Rexs workplace health & safety program.

Essential Selection Criteria;

  • Proficiency in using all types of test equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use and interpret all diagnostics available.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform Preventive Maintenance andpre-flightand post flight checks on Rex Simulators.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth visual adjustment and set-ups on visual system.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with projects such as refurbishments and other hardware modifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with simulator recurrent evaluations.
  • Sound understanding of CASA MOS Part 60 and associated Advisory Circulars.
  • An understanding of Hydraulics.
  • Sound knowledge of electronics.
  • Basic Knowledge of MS-Office tools and suite.
  • Sound analytical diagnostic and problem solving skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety quality and customer service.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as independently
