- Assist with monthly financial close activities including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Support the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Assist with tracking and reporting monthly expenses.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with documentation for SOX and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field required.
- At least 2 years of accounting experience; internship or insurance industry experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Oracle PeopleSoft is a plus.
