Position Overview: As the Just for Girls Elementary Teacher you will play a pivotal role in shaping the daily learning experiences and long-term growth of the girls in our program. Each day brings the opportunity to guide students through rich academic content while nurturing their curiosity resilience and confidence. You will design lessons that not only meet state standards but also ignite enthusiasm and encourage students to explore new ideas with courage and joy.
Beyond instruction youll build meaningful relationships-with students who look to you as a trusted mentor with families who rely on your support and communication and with colleagues and community partners who share your commitment to empowering young girls. This position places you at the heart of our mission: helping children grow academically socially and emotionally in a safe and supportive environment. Its work that challenges inspires and rewards in equal measure and it offers the chance to make a lasting impact every single day.
Key Responsibilities: Professional expertise assessment preparation student evaluation classroom management enrichment programs communication and community engagement.
- Required state teaching certification and any other applicable credentialing requirements including ESOL certification.
- Ability to work as a team or independently.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability and experience to engage the interest of school-age girls.
- Ability to work with diverse children including those with special needs.
- Ability to work well with parents or guardians.
- Ability to evaluate tests and measurements of achievement.
- Willingness to be held accountable for student results.
- Must have a clear Level II background check and 3 personal and professional references.
- Ability to lift approximately 20 pounds.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or graduate degree in Elementary Education or related field.
- Teaching experience in a public or private school.
- Experience in an urban school environment preferred.
Employment Type: Full Time- 10 months (August- May)
Salary: Competitive commensurate with experience and annualized.
