Job Summary
This person will have responsibility for:
- Ensure that all precious metal products meet the legal requirements for hallmarking including purity and fineness standards set by regulatory bodies.
- Quality control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure accurate and consistent hallmarking of products.
- Team management: Supervise and provide guidance to the team/ suppliers to ensure gold purity is maintained in the entire value chain
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of hallmarking activities including product information test results and certifications.
- Regulatory knowledge: Stay updated on relevant hallmarking regulations standards and industry practices to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements.
- Equipment maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments such as production design and quality assurance to ensure smooth flow of products through the hallmarking process.
- Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements in the hallmarking process.
- Customer support: Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding hallmarking providing accurate information and resolving issues effectively.
- Health and safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the hallmarking area including proper handling of hazardous materials.
Desired professional qualities:
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of hallmarking regulations standards and quality control procedures.
- Experience: Previous experience in hallmarking or a related field with a track record of managing hallmarking operations.
- Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately evaluate and assess the quality of precious metal products.
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and address customer inquiries.
- Problem-solving: Ability to identify and resolve hallmarking-related issues and implement process improvements.
- Technical proficiency: Familiarity with hallmarking equipment testing methods and relevant software applications.
- Ethics: Demonstrated integrity and ethical conduct in upholding hallmarking standards and regulations.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing hallmarking regulations and industry practices.
