Job Summary

TO:All Teaching and Administrative Personnel Brockton Public SchoolsFROM:Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSUBJECT:COMMUNITY SCHOOLS SUMMER 2026 - SCHOOL ADJUSTMENT COUNSELORSQualified School Adjustment Counselors (SACs) are needed to support students while attending the Community Schools of Brocktons summer programs. Positions are contingent upon funding and adequate student enrollment. Job sharing is schools are as follows: Angelo Brookfield BakerBHSSouth SACs are expected to attend the Summer Program Mandatory Staff Meeting scheduled for Thursday June 26th (5) hours of program prep/comp will be : degree from an accredited institution with a concentration in one of the following areas: Social Work Psychology Education or less than two years of full time paid successful and fully attested experience in handling of children in an educational or guidance setting approval by the Director of the Youth Service Bureau and the Commissioner of the Massachusetts State Department of experience in a summer academic support program is commit to work the entire program and attend to assist in program as neededDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Be available by phone to consult with site supervisors on situations during scheduled shifts 2. Review information of enrolled students3. Communicate with parents and site supervisors regarding students conditions 4. Adhere to required regulations for funded programs 5. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools program coordinator and program supervisors All SAC positions begin 30 minutes before the start of the program and end 30 minutes after the program closure.
