Position: Software - Embedded System Engineer
Location: Waterford WI
Job Type: Full-time Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days remote)
Position Overview: Were seeking a Software - Embedded System Engineer to join our engineering team and help develop innovative embedded and IoT this role youll design develop and maintain firmware across our product portfolio translate User Stories into working software and integrate electronic circuit designs into embedded systems. Youll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams contribute to architecture discussions follow SDLC best practices and ensure high-quality code through testing and reviews.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Participate as part of an engineering team developing new embedded and IoT solutions.
- Innovate develop and maintain firmware for the entire portfolio of products.
- Review interpret/ clarify and implement User Stories to working firmware/ software.
- Review and integrate circuit designs into embedded systems validate electronic designs and component selections.
- Engage in technical discussion of new solutions and architectures.
- Use standard methodologies to write well-designed and tested code.
- Adhere to coding standards/ procedures and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with the team to identify creative IoT solutions utilizing existing platform.
- Develop product following SDLC process including peer design/ code review.
- Utilize software code version control/ source management and defect management tools.
- Address increasingly complex technical problems and draw upon experience analytical skills and creative thinking to develop solutions.
- Perform unit testing on products before releasing to system test.
- Work with manufacturing and quality to develop equipment programs and processes to improve efficiency.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities:
- Experience with software development including firmware and embedded development basic design ability and third-party frameworks.
- Experience with C and C.
- Experience with microcontrollers preferably: STM32 PICmicro ARM Cortex-M
- Experience with reading and interpreting circuit design and schematics
- Experience with Industrial and Building Control Automation concept preferably: Bacnet LonBus ModBus RS232 and RS485.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Experience reading and using circuit design and schematics
- Experience with web services
- Knowledge of cloud-based programming serverless architecture including AWS Lambda
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related curriculum or Associates degree or 7 years equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years practical experience in software development
