Overview:
The IT System Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organizations server and network infrastructure to ensure reliability performance and security. This role monitors and administers servers virtual environments storage systems backups and network connectivity while supporting hybrid cloud integrations. The System Administrator deploys configures and maintains operating systems virtualization platforms and enterprise identity services including Active Directory Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.

This role also assists with infrastructure planning cybersecurity controls and enterprise application integrations including SaaS and IaaS addition the System Administrator supports end users through escalated helpdesk requests ensuring systems devices and services operate efficiently across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Active Directory Microsoft Entra ID domain controllers organizational units (OUs) Group Policy user accounts permissions and authentication services.

  • Manage identity and access management (IAM) including Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access policies within Microsoft Entra environments.

  • Maintain and monitor virtualization infrastructure including hypervisors virtual hosts and network storage systems.

  • Support Windows Server and Linux environments including server provisioning patching upgrades and lifecycle management.

  • Manage data protection operations including backups replication restorations and disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.

  • Configure and support Microsoft 365 services and integrations with cloud-based platforms including SaaS and IaaS solutions.

  • Support email security platforms endpoint detection and response (EDR) and managed detection and response (MDR/XDR) tools to strengthen the organizations cybersecurity posture.

  • Install configure and maintain network hardware and software ensuring stable connectivity across LAN/WAN infrastructure and multi-site environments.

  • Analyze system performance and recommend infrastructure improvements upgrades and cost-effective technology solutions.

  • Administer directory services authentication and authorization frameworks to maintain secure access to systems and applications.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues reported by users perform root cause analysis and implement resolutions.

  • Support and administer third-party enterprise applications and integrations.

  • Assist with helpdesk operations handling escalated technical support tickets and end-user system issues.

  • Maintain infrastructure security and confidentiality by adhering to best practices in information security and access control.

  • Provide IT support to multiple divisional offices including remote locations across state lines.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of infrastructure operations and business needs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment using computers and network equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage interruptions while maintaining productivity.

  • Ability to lift and transport equipment or materials up to 50 pounds when necessary.

  • Vision and hearing sufficient for reading screens printed documentation and communicating in person or via phone.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel to field offices and job sites may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure Administrator role.

  • Experience with Windows Server administration virtualization platforms Microsoft Entra ID Active Directory Microsoft 365 networking infrastructure and cloud service integrations.

  • Strong understanding of network management best practices security controls and enterprise IT operations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced technical environment.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and documentation practices.
