Position Summary: Participate in the planning implementation and evaluation of the school health program. Provide direct health services to individual students and staff.
Qualifications Certification& Experience
- Current license as a registered nurse (RN) from the Iowa Board of Nursing
- Bachelors degree preferred preferably in Nursing
- Knowledge of professional standards the Nurse Practice Act and other statutes and regulations
- Current CPR certification
- Completed studies designed to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- health concerns of school youth
- physical and emotional health of children and adults
- community agencies/resources
- legal rights and due process
- Ability to manage the components of the School Health Program

- Contributes to creating a positive work environment
- Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality
- Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her scheduled day

- Implements the Nursing Process and Standards of School Nursing Practice (NASN 2005)

- Assists in evaluating the School Health Program
