THE ROLE

Our staff are the foundation of our organisation and we are looking for a People & WHS Advisor who shares our values and is passionate about contributing a positive and inclusive workplace.

This important role will provide be responsible for delivering day to day HR and WHS advice and coaching to WSSSA managers and employees. This role covers the full employee lifecycle award interpretation policy guidance employee relations and WHS compliance. Providing:

• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on day-to-day HR & WHS issues.
• Oversee performance management processes conflict resolution conducting investigations and ensuring fairness and due process.
• Lead the end-to-end recruitment process aligning with organisational values and workforce needs
• Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation
• Manage and coordinate WHS incidents and reporting

This is a full time position based at the WSSSA Head Office in Mile End.

ABOUT YOU

To succeed in this exciting and busy role you will need 3 years experience in generalist HR advisory role as well as:

• Strong working knowledge and application of HR legislation and policies (Fair Work Act EEO etc.) with the ability to interpret and apply Enterprise agreements and other industrial agreements
• Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in contemporary Health Safety and Wellbeing practices including the ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation codes of practice and standards (e.g. Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations).
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• A proactive professional and customer-focused approach with the ability to coach mediate and negotiate effective outcomes
• A tertiary qualification in Human Resources and/ or WHS or related experience commensurate with the position.
• A current drivers licence and be eligible for or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
