Job Summary

St Mungos is a leading homelessness charity with a clear purpose: to end homelessness and rebuild lives. As homelessness continues to risewith close to 5000 people sleeping rough across England every night and over 80000 households at riskour work is more vital than ever.

We deliver services that help people move away fromthe streets provide accommodation for those who have found themselves homeless and offer support to help people recover from homelessness for good. Our outcomes are both life-saving and life-changing. Withnearly 2000colleagues and volunteers our passion and commitment are tangible.

As part of ourongoing succession planning we are seeking to appoint aCoopted Member People Committeeto bring additional senior People and Cultureexpertiseto the Committee.

As a Committee member you will contribute to strategic oversight of organisational culture people policies workforce planningequity diversity and inclusion and organisational development. You will work closely with Trustees the Chief People Officer and Executive Team helping us to continuously improve and ensure our people practices support our mission to end homelessness.

This is a valuable opportunity for someone who wants to use their professional expertise to support good governance constructivechallengeand fresh thinking at a strategic level.

You will bring:

Senior professional experience in HR/People leadership (including culture organisational design and development ED&I employee relations and related areas)
A proven track record of developing and implementing People/HR strategy and delivering positive culture change
An outstanding commitment to equity diversity and inclusion
An inclusive collaborative approach and a genuine passion for our purpose

We particularly welcome applications from individuals from the Global Majority and women who are currently under-represented on our Board.

This is a voluntary unremuneratednonexecutiveposition. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Time commitment is approximately 3hours per Quarter including preparation and attendance at quarterly People Committee meetings which usually take place online.

About Us

Our purpose is to end homelessness and rebuild lives. It drives everything that we do. For the past 55 years we have been on the ground every day and every night supporting people to recover from homelessness and advocating for change. We support around 28000 people each year and our work means that more than 2700 people have somewhere safe to stay each night.
