Team Leader (Residential)

Salary: 31000 per annum

Location:Telford

Contract/Hours:Permanent/Full-Time 37 hours per week

About the Service

Acorn Way is one of action for childrens newest homes with space for up to four children and currently home to two acorn way offers a calm and nurturing setting where every young person receives genuine care and consistent support. Our focus is on helping children enjoy the best possible quality of life surrounded by adults who believe in them and celebrate every step of their journey.

A bit about the role

As Team Leader you will play a vital role in supporting children with physical and learning disabilities. You will lead and motivate a dedicated care team ensuring a safe nurturing environment where each child feels valued respected and supported.

Drawing on your background in childrens residential care and your strong understanding of disability you will help deliver consistently high-quality child-centred care. The role includes overseeing the development and delivery of individual care plans promoting positive relationships with children and their families and maintaining the highest standard of safeguarding and well-being.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring excellent communication skills confident decision making and commitment to continuous professional development for both yourself and your team. You will also be expected to step in and support the management team when they are not on the premises ensuring the smooth safe running of the service at all times.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge Were looking for someone with a can do attitude to join our team. Ideally youll have:

  • Level 3 Diploma inResidential ChildCareorequivalent.
  • Theability toworkeffectivelyas part of a team.
  • Provide emotional and social support to children and young people who have physical and learning disabilities.
  • Provide direct line management to a team of residential staff to deliver high standards of care
  • Leading shifts and supervising staff.
  • Link working with young people (managing paperwork and files).
  • Developing care plans and identifying agreed outcomes.
  • Responsible for the safeguarding of young people.
  • Being an advocate for the wellbeing of the young people.
