About the Role:
As the Programme Manager Open Access Transformation you will play a pivotal role in operationalizing Springer Natures Open Access Transition strategy. Reporting to the Director OA Transformation you will be responsible for coordinating and driving the execution of cross-functional initiatives that support the companys OA growth and transition.
This will include acting as a central point of contact between strategic leadership and delivery teams the Programme Manager ensures that OA-related projects are well-defined resourced and tracked to completion.
This role requires a strong grasp of project management principles excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans. You will work across publishing sales product technology and operations teams to ensure alignment with OA priorities facilitate governance and reporting structures and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
You will be highly organized proactive and comfortable working in a dynamic matrixed this position you will contribute to building internal awareness and understanding of OA transformation helping teams navigate change and adopt new ways of working.
This is a high-impact role that supports Springer Natures mission to lead the global transition to Open Access publishing.
Role Responsibilities:
Programme & Project Coordination
Support OA transformation programmes bymanagingprojects across publishing sales product and technology teams being able to provide strategic OA transition guidance when needed
Track progress risks and dependencies ensuring alignment with OA transformation goals.
Maintain project documentation timelines and reporting dashboards.
Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate communication between OA leadership and internal teams.
Support the development of communication materials and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate meetings webinars and workshops to promote OA awareness and education.
Operational Support
Assist in the development and rollout of governance structures and communication channels.
Support the Director in preparing for product councils steering committees and strategic planning sessions.
Help ensure OA priorities are reflected across team roadmaps and OKRs.
Data & KPI Support
Collaborate with analytics and data teams to monitor OA KPIs relevant to projects
Support the interpretation and visualization of performance metrics (e.g. revenue per article usage targets).
Contribute to the development of tools and templates for tracking OA progress.
Experience Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
Experience in science technology and medical publishing with strong knowledge of sales or publishing.
Proven track record in project or programme management.
Familiarity with cross-functional collaboration in matrix organizations.
Experience of responding to change and growth.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities alongside the ability to create memorable clear and influential presentations
Strong influencing and collaboration skills at all levels
Proficiency in Excel
Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Team-oriented proactive and adaptable.
Problem solving and intellectual curiosity and a real desire to find better answers to difficult problems.
Bachelors degree or equivalent (required)
Desirable
Formal project management training or certification (e.g. PRINCE2 Agile PMP)
Experience using project management tools (e.g. Asana Trello Smartsheet MS planner).

US Annualized Base Salary Range: $80000 $105000.
