The Opportunity

Were looking for a Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to lead Medtech one of our fast growing operating companies into its next phase of innovation clinical impact and scalable growth.

Based in Auckland and reporting directly to the CEO youll partner closely with Banyans Product and Technology leadership to shape the future of a platform that plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers patients and industry partners. This is a pivotal role that balances strategic vision with hands-on execution bringing modernisation data intelligence and AI-driven innovation to a regulated and rapidly evolving sector.

Youll define how we build products that truly matter in healthcaredesigning robust compliant and future-ready systems elevating engineering and product capabilities and creating experiences that improve patient outcomes and empower clinical teams.

What Youll Do

• Lead the Product & Technology vision Drive the modernisation of our PMS platforms while strengthening data security interoperability and AI capabilities.
• Own the roadmap Prioritise what we build and why translating customer clinical and regulatory needs into clear and impactful product outcomes.
• Shape the architecture Set the direction for a scalable cloud-native health-grade platform with strong interoperability (HL7/FHIR) and long-term innovation.
• Advance AI and data-driven innovation Turn clinical data into insights that improve workflows decision support and patient experiencewhile ensuring privacy and safety.
• Build and develop high-performing teams Lead and grow Product Engineering QA DevOps and Data teams across NZ and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.
• Champion delivery excellence Embed modern engineering automation and DevSecOps practices to improve speed quality and reliability.
• Strengthen security and compliance Oversee cybersecurity data privacy and resilience ensuring adherence to ISO 27001 and health-sector standards.
• Partner across the business Work closely with Clinical Operations Sales and Customer Success to align the roadmap with commercial and clinical priorities and communicate clearly with the Board.

What Youll Bring

• Extensive experience in senior product and technology leadership (CPTO CTO CPO or equivalent) ideally within health information systems clinical software or regulated SaaS environments.
• A proven track record modernising and scaling complex platforms ideally with experience in healthcare-grade interoperability or Salesforce ecosystems.
• Expertise in enterprise /Angular modernisation and cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS).
• Strong understanding of health data privacy clinical safety standards and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 NZ Privacy Act HIPAA-aligned practices or equivalent regulatory environments.
• Demonstrated success delivering AI/ML analytics or decision-support solutions that unlock value for clinicians and patients.
• Experience leading distributed teams and shaping high-performance cultures grounded in excellence empathy and mission-driven work.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skillsyou can bring clarity to complex environments and inspire confidence across clinical and commercial teams.

Bonus Points

• Experience building or evolving data-driven products in Medtech digital health or other highly regulated industries.
• Hands-on knowledge of interoperability standards (HL7/FHIR) API-first architectures or AI/ML data pipelines in clinical environments.
• Familiarity with digital patient engagement clinical workflow optimisation or predictive analytics.
• Proven success identifying new product-led revenue opportunities or innovative pricing models in healthcare settings.
