Job Summary

Kent Place School seeks a Middle School Track Coach for the 2025-2026 season.

Hours: 2:30-3:30 pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Friday (games may finish later and occur on Thursdays)

Season: Spring March 23-May 29 2026

Requirements:

Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
Understand the fundamentals of track.
Have the ability to motivate players to reach their potential.
Must have exceptional leadership skills.
Must possess knowledge of rules regulations strategies and techniques of the sport.

Administrative Duties and Personal Skills

Must have excellent communication skills.
Strong administrative skills.
Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
Maintains along with coaches the proper supervision of student-athletes at practices games and on school-provided transportation.
Effective active listening skills.
Promotes good public relations through professional standards of conduct and presentation and professional courtesy.
Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players officials and spectators.
Have the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Organizational and problem-solving skills.
Adhere to best practices of diversity and inclusion so that interactions with students colleagues and other constituencies highlight awareness competence and sensitivity.

Other duties as assigned:

Attends a mandatory preseason training session with the Athletic Dept.
Participates in special activities awards nights admission panels open houses and pep assemblies.
Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training.
Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Department.
