Summary

Central Office staff provide support to administrators and other staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Responsible for payroll duties:
    • Monitor timeclock system and review time sheets for accuracy determine comp time and relay information to supervisors.
    • Review substitute and hourly timesheets for accuracy and track hours for ACA and retirement purposes.
    • Approve leave requests through the HR Portal check for accuracy and make changes as necessary.
    • Collect and enter monthly changes such as docked days garnishments benefit or deduction changes etc.
    • Process payroll by direct deposit for all employees.
    • Process after each payroll - federal and state taxes retirement through the Employer Web Portal along with deduction and benefit payments.
    • Process quarterly reports - Federal 941 MO Department of Labor Unemployment and Multiple Worksite reports.
    • Balance information to process W-2s annually.
    • Enter information and process 1095C forms with Affordable Care Act information to employees.
  • Responsible for record keeping of sick/personal/vacation leave and sick leave bank for the District.
  • Provide information and respond to inquiries regarding workers compensation payroll insurance health savings accounts retirement unemployment FMLA etc.
  • Coordinate and work closely with central office staff regarding contracts personnel files processing new employees and conducting exit meeting with employees leaving the district.
  • Responsible for collection and maintenance of pertinent payroll data on all new employees. Process background checks on all new employees and contracted personnel (i.e. food service bus drivers therapists).
  • File workers compensation claims and unemployment protests.
  • Complete employment verification information forms and personnel surveys.
  • Work with auditors and building personnel on annual audit.
  • Cross train with other Central Office staff and assist as needed.
  • Become proficient with office software programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Retain records in accordance to the appropriate retention schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or prescribed by Maryville R-II School District policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education - High school graduate and at least two years clerical experience payroll experience is preferred.

Have strong computer skills including word processing and working with spreadsheets and databases.

Be able to understand and submit online reports to state and federal agencies.

Have the ability to learn new systems and software.
