The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking a Director in the Talent Development Division to develop a talent development strategy design and deliver high-impact learning programs and advance leadership capacity at all levels. This position will supervise the Learning & Development Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee an enterprise learning strategy that supports employee growth and is aligned to organizational goals competencies career paths and business needs
- Assess organization-wide development needs and utilize as a basis for overall talent development strategy
- Identify and track key talent development metrics
- Coordinate strategy initiatives with Human Resources to continually position VEDP as an employer of choice
- Design develop and deliver professional skills programs and role-specific offerings utilizing multiple delivery channels
- Design implement and facilitate internal leadership development training ensuring offerings are aimed at building capabilities across the organization
- As requested facilitate leadership divisional cross-divisional workshops and planning sessions or assist with identifying external facilitators when needed
- Provide professional development coaching and mentorship to staff using the Career Framework
- Provide oversight of the Intern Program ensuring alignment with talent development goals and a strong pipeline for future workforce needs
Skills:
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles
- Experience working with and implementing competency-based career frameworks and career pathing
- Strong facilitation and content development skills including working with modern learning platforms
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft PowerPoint for presenting learning content
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Excels under pressure and able to adapt in a fast-paced results-driven work environment
Experience:
- At least 5 years of talent development experience including designing and delivering professional development training and conducting organization-wide learning needs assessments
- Supervisory experience preferred
