Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Laboratory Leader to oversee high-volume laboratory operations in DeLand Florida. This role is responsible for leading large laboratory teams ensuring regulatory compliance and driving operational excellence within the microbiology department.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in clinical laboratory environments and a proven ability to develop teams manage operational transitions and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage high-volume microbiology laboratory operations.
Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight for laboratory teams.
Ensure compliance with CAP federal and state clinical laboratory regulations.
Build strong teams by developing leaders and strengthening bench capability.
Oversee technical or platform transitions potentially across multiple sites.
Establish clear performance standards and drive accountability across teams.
Foster a culture of collaboration engagement and continuous development.
Mentor and support emerging laboratory leaders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field.
10 years of recent experience in Microbiology within a clinical laboratory setting.
Medical Technologist certification such as:
- ASCP
- AMT
- AAB
- or equivalent.
Florida Supervisor License in Microbiology or Generalist or eligibility to obtain it upon relocation.
Demonstrated experience leading large laboratory teams in high-volume environments.
Proven ability to manage laboratory operations and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience implementing new programs products or technologies in clinical laboratories.
Experience managing technical platform transitions across laboratory sites.
