Job Summary

Purpose:

The Mechanical Engineer (Device Development Engineer) role within the Science and Technology (S&T) organization is responsible for contributing to the design development and testing of mechanical systems and components for electro-mechanical combination products and medical devices. This position requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles as well as the ability to solve complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks software.
  • Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs.
  • Develop and execute verification test plans to ensure product meets performance and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with third party manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on mechanical designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct analyses (e.g. calculations tolerance analysis etc.) as needed to improve product and component designs.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and apply them to projects.
  • Conduct effective root cause analysis to investigate issues relating to Electro-Mechanical products and associated processes

Qualifications :

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education with typically 5 years of experience preferably in Medical Device Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry in relevant device development or Masters Degree or equivalent education with typically 2 years of experience preferably in Medical Device Biotech or Pharmaceutical Industry in relevant device development.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out the job functions.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree in mechanical engineering.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Experience with tolerance stack-up analyses.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
