Medical Director (Managing DVM)

Role Overview
This position offers a highly experienced veterinarian the opportunity to step into a leadership role within a growing small-animal practice while continuing to provide clinical care. The Medical Director guides medical standards mentors veterinary staff and partners with practice leadership to support operational excellence compliance and long-term growth ensuring high-quality ethical and compassionate patient care. Key Responsibilities

Provide medical leadership and mentorship to associate veterinarians
Foster a collaborative team-focused culture delivering high-quality care
Partner with leadership on daily operations and staff development
Lead meetings and support performance management
Establish and monitor medical protocols and best practices
Ensure regulatory compliance and ethical standards
Support strategic planning and practice growth
Promote clinical excellence and financial sustainability

Qualifications

DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Active veterinary license in good standing
Clinical experience preferred
Leadership and team management skills
Strong communication and organizational abilities
Commitment to high medical standards and compassionate care
