Job Summary (List Format) Medical Investigator / Case Manager (Quality of Care & Conduct Investigations)
- Conducts comprehensive investigations into complaints against Arizona-licensed allopathic physicians and physician assistants focusing on quality of care unprofessional conduct criminal convictions substance abuse and sexual misconduct.
- Reviews and analyzes complaints to identify specific allegations and determine required investigative actions.
- Prepares and issues official correspondence including notice letters and subpoenas and initiates contact with complainants and respondents.
- Obtains reviews and organizes relevant medical records and supporting documents for case files.
- Conducts interviews with respondents complainants patients and witnesses to gather facts and supporting information.
- Applies Arizona statutes agency rules and policies to investigative processes and case resolutions.
- Manages and prioritizes a high-volume caseload ensuring timely progression of multiple investigations at different stages.
- Prepares comprehensive investigative reports and memos and presents findings to the Arizona Medical Board.
- May testify before the Office of Administrative Hearings and conduct site inspections as part of investigations.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date case notes status updates and responds to inquiries from Medical Consultants and other stakeholders.
- Collaborates with internal teams including investigators physicians and administrative staff.
- Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word) and Adobe PDF tools for documentation and case management.
- Works onsite during training period transitioning to a hybrid schedule (3 days remote/2 days onsite) upon demonstrating independence in the role.
