Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum 34 years of hands-on experience in WordPress backend development
- Strong command of PHP (OOP) and WordPress core architecture
- Deep experience with WooCommerce including actions/filters custom product types and Orders API
- Proven experience building custom WordPress plugins and Gutenberg blocks
- Proficiency with WordPress REST API WP-CLI and MySQL database design
- Working knowledge of Composer Git and CI/CD workflows
- Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6) and Gutenberg/React architecture
- Experience with third-party API integrations authentication flows and webhooks
- Strong understanding of WordPress security best practices including sanitisation escaping nonces and role/capability handling
- Experience with LearnDash customization and course logic (preferred)
- Familiarity with React/JSX for Gutenberg or headless WordPress (preferred)
- Exposure to npm Webpack or Vite (preferred)
- Knowledge of PHPUnit or automated testing frameworks (preferred)
- Familiarity with Docker Redis ElasticSearch and AWS/GCP environments (preferred)
Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins and Gutenberg blocks in line with WP coding standards
- Implement and extend WooCommerce customizations including payment shipping and checkout logic
- Develop and support LearnDash custom features integrations (SCORM certificates groups) and course workflows
- Build document and maintain REST API endpoints; integrate third-party services and webhooks
- Optimize website performance improve MySQL queries and recommend caching strategies
- Ensure high code quality through code reviews testing and CI/CD-based deployments
- Troubleshoot production issues manage staging/live environments and perform secure migrations
- Enforce security best practices across all implementations
- Create clear technical documentation and handover notes for internal teams and clients
