Job Summary
Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated German Language Teacher to join our team and support candidates who are preparing to work onboard cruise ships. The ideal candidate will have at least B1 level German proficiency and be capable of teaching practical language skills to beginners and intermediate learners. This role is focused on equipping candidates with the ability to communicate confidently in everyday situations hospitality tasks and customer service interactions onboard.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver structured German lessons up to B1 level covering speaking listening reading and basic writing skills

Develop lesson plans exercises and interactive activities tailored to adult learners and the cruise ship hospitality environment

Focus on practical real-world language use including customer service phrases greetings simple instructions and onboard communication

Assess learner progress provide constructive feedback and adapt teaching methods to suit varying skill levels

Motivate and support learners to build confidence in speaking and understanding German

Collaborate with the Maritime Skills Academy team to align teaching objectives with program goals

Encourage a positive engaging and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:

At least B1 German proficiency (spoken and written)

Experience teaching German to beginners and intermediate learners

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to explain grammar vocabulary and pronunciation clearly and effectively

Familiarity with hospitality or customer service language is a plus
