About the job:

Based in Brussels Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join NCIA CIS Support Unit (CSU) Brussels that is the primary Information Communications and Technology (ICT) service provider for 24/7 support to the Secretary General the International Staff (IS) the International Military Staff (IMS) and other Customers in the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. CSU Brussels enables end-to-end CIS services as it installs operates maintains and supports the full range of CIS capabilities during peacetime crisis and war throughout its allocated Area of Responsibility (AOR) and as otherwise directed.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Technician (Configuration Management) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Undertakes basic risk management activities;

  • Applies standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements;

  • Applies tools techniques and processes to track log and correct information related to configuration items;

  • Monitors and logs the actual service provided compared to that required by service level agreements;

  • Develops documents and implements changes based on requests for change;

  • Applies tools techniques and processes to create and maintain an accurate asset register.

About you:

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience;

  • 3 years of practical experience across all the configuration management disciplines in a configuration management role;

  • Very good technical understanding and experience working with various IT Services; Management related tools and technology (like BMC Remedy ITSM Suite v9.1 and above);

  • Good understanding of infrastructure solutions hosting Service Management tools and technology including understanding of market leading database solutions (including but not limited to MS SQL and Oracle);

  • Practical experience with ITIL change and configuration management best practices;

  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.
