Description of Work

In partnership with stakeholders the Information Technology Division (ITD) of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) provides excellence in information technology delivery to enable NCDHHS mission and goals. Our team ensures that NCDHHS has consistent cost-effective reliable accessible and secure technology services.

This Network Manager position is a member of the ITD NC FAST team. This position reports to ITD Infrastructure Director Network Server & Cloud. North Carolina Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) is the Department of Health and Human Services automation initiative to provide families and clients with an effective and seamless service delivery process.

This position provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the NC FAST Networking and Server Support teams. The role is responsible for managing daily operations developing and implementing effective processes and procedures and ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance reporting. It also encompasses the recruitment mentoring and professional development of team members including performance management and disciplinary actions when necessary. Additionally the position leads planning and analysis efforts related to network infrastructure and server technologies ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The position will be responsible for managing infrastructure hardware hosted in Raleigh and Forest City NC. The role is accountable for establishing and maintaining operational standards and documentation for both network and server support functions.

Salary Range: $88187 - $154327

Recruitment Range: $88187 - 110000

• Experience troubleshooting shell scripts in Unix environment.

  Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management analysis or design; or Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management analysis or design; or High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and eight years of progressive experience in telecommunications network management analysis or design; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
