Job Summary

We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as our Manager of Advanced Provider Practicea hybrid leadership role that blends clinical expertise with operational oversight. This position offers a unique opportunity to deliver direct psychiatric care while leading a multidisciplinary team of providers across diverse care settings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care proven leadership experience and a systems-oriented mindset. Responsibilities include supervising provider performance managing schedules developing clinical workflows and supporting organizational strategy in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer. This role requires licensure in at least one state (with willingness to obtain multi-state licensure) flexibility to travel and a passion for expanding access to high-quality behavioral health services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as the clinical leader and point of escalation for the provider team
  • Provide supervision coaching and mentorship to a distributed team of PMHNPs
  • Review and manage provider productivity visit cadence and performance metrics
  • Review and approve care coordination and provider schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
  • Lead clinical onboarding competency development and ongoing training
  • Collaborate with the CMO to implement strategic initiatives and maintain clinical quality
  • Participate in hiring and retention strategies for clinical provider

Operational & Strategic Initiatives

  • Develop and implement clinical workflows policies and protocols to support scalable care delivery
  • Drive continuous quality improvement efforts including audits peer reviews and outcome evaluations
  • Ensure adherence to compliance documentation and licensure requirements across all service areas
  • Serve as a key liaison between frontline providers operations and executive leadership
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and risk assessments
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications in alignment with evidence-based practices
  • Develop and adjust individualized interdisciplinary treatment plans in collaboration with therapist
  • Provide ongoing follow-up care medication monitoring and outcome tracking
  • Deliver care via telehealth in-person or hybrid models depending on need
  • Maintain accurate compliant documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)

EXPECTATIONS

QUANTITATIVE

  1. 1. Clinical Care (Direct):

Deliver direct patient care as required by the business. Ensure clinical encounters meet established organizational quality standards as evidenced by peer review or chart audit scores of 90% compliance with best practices.

  1. Provider Productivity Oversight:
  • Review monthly productivity data for 100% of assigned providers within 5 business days of data availability. Identify all outliers (below benchmark or performance threshold) and initiate documented coaching conversations within 14 days of review.
  • Schedule Management:
    • Review and approve care team schedules weekly ensuring 100% of submitted time-off requests are reviewed within 5 business days and fully covered. Maintain no more than one documented lapse in coverage per quarter due to scheduling issues.
  • Performance Review:
    • Conduct quarterly 1:1 meetings with 100% of assigned providers; submit review summaries within 5 business days.
    • Monitor compliance with internal KPIs OKRs and quality metrics monthly; submit analysis reports quarterly with expected 90% adherence to defined KPIs and OKRs.
  • Documentation Timeliness and Compliance:
    • >95% of documentation completed within 24 hours of service
    • Conduct chart audits for 25% of each assigned providers caseload on a quarterly basis ensuring 100% of providers are audited at least once per quarter. Audit findings must confirm 95% compliance with documentation accuracy timeliness and state licensure standards.
  • Operational & Strategic Initiative:
  • Develop and implement 100% of assigned clinical workflows protocols or policies within established timelines (typically within 3060 days of assignment) ensuring alignment with care standards and scalability across service lines.

      • Participate in 100% of scheduled cross-functional leadership meetings; maintain proactive communication with frontline providers and executive leadership through biweekly status updates or briefings.
    1. Quality Initiative Participation:
      • Lead or co-lead at least 2 quality improvement initiatives per year; complete a minimum of 1 audit or outcome evaluation report per quarter.
    2. New Provider Onboarding & Training:
      • Support onboarding of all new PMHNP hires within 30 days of start
      • 100% of new hires fully onboarded within 30 days
    3. Workforce Forecasting & Caseload Planning:
      • Complete quarterly forecasting of provider-to-supervisor ratios and caseload distribution achieving 10% variance between projected and actual staffing levels in at least 3 out of 4 quarters annually to ensure alignment with operational needs and provider capacity targets.
    4. Travel Requirements: As needed for in person leadership meetings (<20%)
    5. QUALITATIVE

      1. Leadership & Culture:
      • Conduct biweekly check-ins with 100% of direct reports maintaining documentation of discussions and follow-ups.
      • Achieve 85% positive feedback on leadership support communication and accessibility in quarterly staff engagement or pulse surveys.
    6. Clinical Judgment:
      • Maintain 90% compliance with evidence-based psychiatric diagnosis prescribing practices and individualized treatment planning as verified through quarterly peer reviews or chart audits.
      • Translate clinical leadership strategy into operations by implementing at least one curriculum-aligned workflow supervision protocol or care model enhancement per quarter.
    7. Collaboration:
      • Participate in 100% of scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings (minimum biweekly) with documented contributions to at least one initiative per quarter related to supervision staffing licensure compliance or education.
      • Maintain timely follow-through on 95% of assigned cross-functional action items within agreed-upon timelines..
    8. Strategic Alignment:
      • Collaborate with the CMO and leadership to implement a minimum of two scalable workflows or care model enhancements per quarter that align with value-based care objectives.
      • Translate clinical leadership strategy into operations by operationalizing 100% of assigned curriculum supervision models or clinical standards within 30 days of directive.
      • Implement a minimum of one data-informed adjustment to program operations or engagement strategy per quarter based on feedback.
    9. Communication:
      • Respond to 95% of internal and external communications within 1 business day.
      • Facilitate at least one structured feedback mechanism per quarter (e.g. survey focus group 1:1 check-ins).
    10. Adaptability:
      • Demonstrate flexibility by resolving or reallocating staffing clinical coverage or technology issues within 48 hours of identification in 90% of instances.
      • Successfully adapt to new clinical protocols or digital tools within 2 weeks of rollout as evidenced by participation in training and full implementation in practice.
    11. Ethic & Compliance:
      • Maintain 100% compliance with HIPAA regulations documentation standards and licensure requirements as verified through quarterly audits.
      • Foster a high-performance growth-oriented culture by providing regular feedback and support to 100% of assigned residents and supervisors with 90% achieving documentation accuracy and timeliness benchmarks.
    12. Technology Use:
      • Achieve full proficiency in all required EHR telehealth and internal platforms within 30 days of onboarding or system rollout.
      • Serve as a digital resource by participating in at least 1 EHR or platform-related improvement initiative per quarter.
    13. Equity & Inclusion:
      • Complete a minimum of 1 cultural humility or health equity training annually.
      • Integrate culturally responsive practices into care delivery as evidenced by participation in at least 1 initiative case review or community partnership per quarter aimed at addressing health disparities in underserved populations.

      POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Required

      • Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in psychiatric mental health
      • Active and unrestricted PMHNP license (must be licensed or willing to be licensed in multiple states). Active License in GA MD VA MI and/or IL highly preferred
      • Board certification as a PMHNP-BC through ANCC or equivalent body
      • Current DEA registration and eligibility to prescribe in applicable states
      • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience including 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
      • Prior experience with project or program management; Operational management skills
      • Strong background in managing provider performance schedules and team dynamics
      • Proficiency in EHRs telehealth tools and digital clinical workflows
      • Willingness and ability to travel regionally to partner sites and team meetings as needed

      Preferred

      • Experience in child/adolescence community or telepsychiatry settings
      • Familiarity with behavioral health compliance standards quality benchmarks and payer models
