TheAV Pipelines & Lineageteam at GM builds core infrastructure that supports theend-to-end AI lifecycleof ML pipelinesfrom local experimentation and large-scale training to evaluation lineage tracking and operational visibility. Our platforms spanboth backend systems and user-facing interfaces enabling ML engineers and researchers to develop understand and evolve models efficiently across diverse environments.

We enablereproducible traceable and efficient ML experimentation significantly accelerating engineering velocity across GMs AI and ML initiatives.

The Role:

As aStaff AI/ML Full-Stack Engineer you will design and buildend-to-end software products owning everything from user-facing interfaces to backend services and cloud infrastructure. You will lead technically complex projects collaborate closely with product managers and platform teams and mentor junior engineers. This is ahands-on individual contributor rolewith a strong emphasis on technical depth system design and product impact rather than people management.

Note: This role is part of an ML infrastructure engineering team and does not involve applying machine learning models for specific tasks. The focus is on developing infrastructure products that empower GM teams to perform machine learning and data science atscale.

Whatyoulldo

Full-Stack Development:Design implement andmaintainuser-facing web applications and internal tools used by AV engineering teams. Build scalable backend services and APIs that power frontend experiences. Ensure systems are secure reliable and performant at scale.
Frontend Engineering:Develop modern responsive UIs using frameworks such as React Angular or similar Collaborate with UX and product partners to deliver intuitive workflows and polished user experiences. Translate complex backend concepts into clear usable interfaces.
Design & Implementation:Utilizethe latest cloud technologies (GCP/Azure) to design implement and test scalable distributed computing and data processing solutions in the cloud.
Project Ownership:Take ownership of technical projects frominceptionto completion contribute to the product roadmap and make informed decisions on major technical trade-offs.
Collaboration:Engage effectively in team planning code reviews and design discussions considering the impact of projects across multiple teams while proactively managing conflicts.
Mentorship & Recruitment:Conduct technical interviews with calibrated standards onboard and mentor engineers and interns fostering a culture of growth and knowledge sharing.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

5 years of professional software engineering experience includingfull-stack development.
Experience building and operatingproduction-grade web applications
3 years of experience leading and driving large-scale initiatives.
Proficiencyin building scalable infrastructureon the cloudusing Python C Golang or similar languages.
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
Demonstrated ability to develop andmaintainsystems at scale.
A Bachelors Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Mathematics Physics or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience with open-source orchestration platforms such as Kubeflow Flyte Airflow etc.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
Experience with Kubernetes.
Understanding ofMachine Learning (ML) models/pipelines.
Python/C/Golangproficiency.
Relevant publications.

Compensation:The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paidin accordance withapplicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positionslocatedoutside of New York Colorado California or Washington.

The salary range for this role is$172420 to $297500. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentivepayprogram offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.

Remote/Hybrid: This role is basedremotelybut if you live within a 50-mile radius of Mountain View you are expected to report to that location three times a week at minimum.
