Job Summary:
As a Product Development Consultant in the Electric Power Division your work ensures ourcustomers get the most value from our products and services by working with them toidentifypotential improvements to existing products or new products. You will also support go-to-market initiatives sales execution and training as a subject matter expert in your assigned portfolio. Your knowledge will be critical to align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions.
WhatYoullDo:
In this role you will spend most of your time interacting with customers to develop a deep understanding of their needs and our positioning in the competitive landscape. This role will focus on <200kW generator sets in North America.
Evaluating processes toidentifyimprovements in product development and design. Provide input to maximize production efficiency and product performance.
Communicating technical specifications and instructions to ensure product quality and performance. Tracking and managing the status of product issues.
Understanding the competitive landscape and how our products align with those of our competitors.
Providing product applicationexpertiseat point of sale or by deliveringvarious typesof product training including applied technology job efficiency and safety to customers.
What You Have:
Customer Focus:Extensiveexperience and knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability toleveragethatinformation in creating customized customer solutions.
Effective Communications: Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication conceptstoolsand techniques; ability to effectivelytransmit receive and accurately interpret ideas.
Relationship Management:Extensive experience and knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability toestablishand maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.
Products and Services: Working knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Working knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

This positionis located inDallas TX and requires on-site availability when not traveling
Travel is expected 50% of the time

Summary Pay Range:
$128470.00 - $192710.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
