Events Coordinator – Entrepreneurship

The Opportunity

• Join a collaborative purpose-driven team supporting one of Australias leading university entrepreneurship programs
• 2-year contract full-time (35 hrs wk) on-campus role with occasional work outside of hours/weekends

The UNSW Founders Program aids all UNSW staff students and alumni to build the capability mindset and networks they need to create positive impact through entrepreneurship. This is achieved through delivering entrepreneurship experiences and connecting entrepreneurs to the local and international innovation ecosystems.

Building on the reputation of UNSW as a leading university for entrepreneurship you will be responsible for coordinating the suite of flagship UNSW Founders events across the eco-system. Working closely with internal teams faculties and external suppliers you will ensure high-quality compliant and engaging events that support the objectives of the Founders Program. Key responsibilities include:

• Plan and deliver flagship events and daily program activities including objectives timelines venues logistics and on-site delivery.
• Coordinate and manage vendors suppliers and event casual staff.
• Oversee space usage calendars risk assessments and compliance with UNSW OH&S governance and policy requirements.
• Provide hands-on support for event setup including furniture movement space configuration and audiovisual/technical assistance during live events.
• Coordinate the delivery of entrepreneurship workshops across UNSW coursework maintaining workshop materials and building strong relationships with faculties.
• Support project planning administration tracking and reporting to ensure outcomes are delivered on time within budget and to quality standards.
• Conduct post-event evaluations gather feedback analyse data and prepare reports.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage competing priorities including occasional out-of-hours or weekend work and undertake driving duties as required.
• Actively demonstrate UNSW values and Code of Conduct and comply with all health safety and wellbeing policies.

About the successful applicant

You have events management qualifications and/or at least 18 months events management experience along with a current Class C motor vehicle drivers licence. The role requires a strong understanding of events and related functions with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse client groups at all levels while exercising discretion cultural sensitivity and a high awareness of protocol requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills strong attention to detail and sound stakeholder management capabilities are essential as is experience using a range of computer systems and applications including Airtable Eventbrite Excel and the Adobe suite. Youll also have excellent time management skills with the ability to manage changing priorities multiple tasks and competing deadlines using sound judgement and initiative. Project experience including an understanding of the project life cycle and the development of project plans and documentation is also required.

The role calls for someone who can work collaboratively within a team while also taking initiative and working independently.
