POSITION SUMMARY |
Technician Level V position will work directly within production operations.The role often involves the completion of proof load testing and in production pass/fail testing using a tensile testing machine as well as perform metallographic testing of weld specimens. The primary focus involves production quality for products sold in the aerospace market. |
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES |
- Performs proof load testing and tensile testing with pass/fail methodology.
- Perform metallographic testing of weld specimens.
- Provides daily updates on testing trends and results for production supervision of designated area.
- Learn and employinternal work instructions inspection guides and documentation process for products.
- Elevates testing result variation of significance to plant management team.
- Work with Production and Quality identify and implement lessons learned from test results and assist in monitoring ongoing inspection process for production where directed.
- Attend workshops and/or training to understand general AS9100 ISO9001 andAWS D17.2 in-process inspection quality requirements.
- Perform production functions: Rolling bending hardware assembly loop & retainer welding and riveting.
- Assist other production operations where needed.
- Adherence to attendance policy; all work must be completed on site during scheduled work hours.

EDUCATIONAL/LANGUAGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS |
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency required
- Associate degree in a technical field or related experience is preferred
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9001 manufacturing environment
- Ability to learn production process testing methods and hand measurement tools including calipers micrometers indicators height gages optical comparators and tensile testers
- Strong communication skills attention to detail and ability to work to a zero-defect mentality
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic proficiency with computers standard Microsoft Office program suite
- Must be a US Citizen as some work requires ITAR compliance

- Travel is negligible; must be able to attend technical workshops as part of technical competency requirements

COMPETENCY |
- Comprehension and demonstration of written/oral/verbally assigned tasks.
- Ability to visualize completion of assigned tasks.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills (i.e. parts counting/weighing)
- Ability to anticipate problems.

PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORKING CONDITIONS |
- Normal work location is production facility standing walking or sedentary.
- Lifting/Dragging of parts/bins ranging from 30-75 (or more) lbs.
- Repetitive bending of wrists and use of hands.
Follows all safety & PPE standards. - An ability to perform the essential functions of the job consistent with ADA and other federal state and local standards.
