INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT EXPECTATIONS

Assist with instruction based on the educational needs abilities and achievement levels of individual students aligned with the schools mission and academic goals.
Support students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and assist with mastery of assignments.
Implement effective instructional strategies such as gradual release scaffolding differentiation and small-group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
Use assessment data to provide real-time consistent feedback during instruction.
Communicate collaborate and consult with teachers school staff administrators and parents/guardians to support student success.
Build positive professional relationships with students families staff and other stakeholders.
Maintain high standards of professional practice and contribute to a culture of quality teaching and learning.
Support a learning environment in which educators act as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and learning and a willingness to be coached.
Remain coachable and actively seek feedback to improve instructional practices.
Ensure student safety at all times through consistent supervision and adherence to the school-wide behavior plan.

REQUIRED EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of an Associates Degree (2-year degree) OR completion of at least 48 semester hours of college coursework
Knowledge of instructional practices and procedures including those related to special education and specialized learning areas
