Job Responsibilities
- Serve as institutional volunteer coordinator.
- Recruit orientand supervise all institutional volunteers.
- Conduct and coordinateworship services and religious education classes for allrecognized faith groups.
- Provide pastoral care for inmates to include deaths and critical illnesses of family members.
- Provide individual and group pastoral counseling and provide life skills classes.
- Visit inmates in all areas of the institution on a regular basis with visitation in specialmanagement units at least once a week.
- Submit necessaryreports and maintain all necessary documentation.
- Serve as liaison to community religious resources.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
The equivalent of a master of divinity degree from an accredited theological school additional clinical pastoral education and/or work experience in a clinical pastoral setting.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:Must have the equivalent of a master of divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary; ordination as a priest minister or rabbi with current ecclesiastical endorsement; one (1) year of pastoral experience; and must have completed two (2) CPE units under the supervision of a CPE certified educator. Will be required to have 4 units of CPE within 24 months of hire.
