Job Summary:
The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician ensures the safe reliable and efficient operation of industrial electrical and control systems throughout the facility. This role is responsible for installing troubleshooting maintaining and repairing electrical components instrumentation and building systems in accordance with electrical codes schematics and technical documentation. The E&I Technician supports routine and preventive maintenance activities performs biweekly and metered PMs as needed and uses diagnostic tools and test equipment to maintain optimal equipment performance. Advancement within the role is determined by meeting and sustaining the requirements of the Cert Card Program.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to all safety procedures policies and electrical standards.
- Install troubleshoot maintain and repair electrical and instrumentation systems for industrial machinery equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Read and interpret electrical codes manuals schematics diagrams and technical specifications.
- Use hand tools power tools computers and electrical test equipment to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Perform routine biweekly and metered preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Support equipment reliability improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Document repair activities inspections and maintenance work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with operations maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Participate in the Cert Card Program and maintain required skill levels for continued progression.
- Assist with startup shutdown and new equipment installation projects as needed.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety quality and housekeeping.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand walk climb and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity for handling tools components wiring and instrumentation.
- Ability to lift carry or move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
- Visual acuity for reading schematics wiring screens and instrumentation displays.
- Ability to work in environments with noise heat moving equipment and electrical hazards.
- Capability to perform tasks requiring bending kneeling reaching and sustained physical activity.
- Ability to wear required PPE including arc-flash gear gloves and safety glasses.
