Recovery Counselor

Division/Program:

Crisis Residential Program

Starting Compensation:

19.24 - 23.08 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

Sacramento: Crisis Residential Program (In-Person Position)

Working Hours/Shift:

FT Tuesday Wednesday Friday Saturday; NOC Shift (11pm-7:30am )

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

  • Licensing: Valid California Drivers License and current automobile insurance and must maintain a driving record that meets the company drivers eligibility policy.

  • Certification: Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) certification required (can be obtained after hire)..

Recovery Counselor I

  • Education/Experience: High school diploma (or equivalent) plus one year of full-time experience in consumer-directed services within a mental health healthcare or social services setting.

Recovery Counselor II

Requires one of the following education and experience combinations:

  • Associate degree: Plus six years of experience in the mental health field.

  • Bachelors Degree (Mental Health Field): Plus four years of experience in the mental health field.

  • Masters Degree (Mental Health Field): Plus two years of experience in the mental health field.

Division/Program Overview:

  • 24/7 voluntary residential setting specifically for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) at risk and need a higher level of care but lower than a psychiatric hospital
  • Facility equipped to serve up to 15 Youth
  • Provides mental health services that include individual therapy group rehabilitation medication management and case management
  • Incorporates the tenets of recovery peer support and identifying community connections
  • Connects individuals to educational and vocational services and initiating the process of locating housing

In accordance with California law the grade for this position is 19.24 - 26.93. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience internal equity and other factors permitted by law.
