Job Summary

The Jr. Project Manager plays a vital role in supporting the successful execution of greenhouse expansion projects by coordinating scheduling documentation procurement and contractor management. Working closely with the Engineering Manager this role helps ensure that projects are completed on time within budget and in full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities span from timeline development action tracking and inspections to Health and Safety oversight vendor coordination SOP development and financial tracking contributing to smooth project delivery from planning to closeout.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support the creation and maintenance of project schedules including detailed Gantt Charts to track milestones deadlines and critical path activities.
  • Attend and document contractor meetings; coordinate on-site activities and ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications.
  • Schedule and oversee job site inspections; follow up with contractors on deficiencies and ensure compliance with construction standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of project drawings and documents; collaborate with operations to review and validate contractor drawings for compliance with design and operational needs.
  • In partnership with HR or the H&S Coordinator help develop and maintain the job site Health & Safety plan; monitor safety practices conduct site safety inspections and document compliance with hygiene housekeeping and safety protocols.
  • Track project expenditures manage invoice processing and assist in preparing budget reports and participating in financial reviews with senior leadership.
  • Request and evaluate quates for equipment and services; support procurement of materials under CAPEX and OPEX budgets in alignment with project requirements.
  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe operation and maintenance of newly installed equipment and systems.
  • Track project status against established timelines and budgets; identify risks or delays and communicate updates to the Project Manager and senior leadership.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure smooth and successful execution of projects

Requirements and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management Engineering Business or relevant trade background preferred.
  • Experience supporting construction or greenhouse projects is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to evaluate and assist in resolving project challenges.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; Spanish language ability is a plus.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism.
  • Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).

Working conditions

  • Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
  • Role requires the ability to listen and speak to other employees.
  • Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers and filing cabinets. Specific vision capabilities required; the employee is to work in front of a computer sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods is required.
  • This job may operate in a hot high humidity environment where temperature average 90 degrees Fahrenheit but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
  • This job may operate in a refrigerated warehouse where temperatures range from 45-55F. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation
  • The position may involve needing to lift to 30 pounds occasionally up to 50-pounds (e.g. filing boxes).

    Compensation & Benefits:
    This position offers a salary range of $60000 $80000 CAD annually commensurate with experience skills and internal addition Pure Flavor provides a competitive total rewards package that includes company-paid benefits RRSP matching and paid time off.
