Description

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine offers a one-year fellowship in Emergency and Trauma Imaging. There are four fellows per year. There are currently fellowship openings for 2026-2027 and 2027-2028.

Emory University Healthcare provides emergency services to over 250000 patients annually. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical experience in imaging arising from the emergency departments of seven teaching hospitals (interpreted from two central reading rooms): Emory University Hospital Emory University Hospital Midtown Emory Johns Creek Hospital Emory St. Josephs Hospital Emory Hillandale Emory Decatur Hospital and Grady Memorial Hospital.

Clinically fellows can expect to gain emergent interpretive experience in CT MR Ultrasound and radiography within a high volumeenvironment. Due to the size and breadth of our healthcare system diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled. Fellows have the ability to customize their training experience to accommodate post-fellowship plans with a clinical or academic focus. Protected academic time at up to one day per week can be allotted for fellows interested in exploring academic endeavors. Elective time within other subspecialty divisions can be explored.

The Division of Emergency Radiology hosts educational case conferences M&M conferences and a lecture series designed to enhance fellow education. Medical and allied health students and resident interactions afford fellows ample teaching opportunities. Fellows have a professional development fund of $2500 to spend on educational materials or conference attendance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must have completed or be scheduled to complete an ACGME (American) or RCPSC (Canadian) accredited diagnostic radiology residency prior to July 1 of the fellowship year.
  • Qualified applicants must hold an MD degree or equivalent and meet requirements for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
