Title : Product Owner with P&C Insurance domain & Claims Exp

Location: Erie PA or Piscataway NJ Onsite from Day 1

Duration: Long Term

Responsibilities:

• Own and maintain the claims product backlog ensuring items are well-defined prioritized and ready for engineering execution
• Gather and refine requirements through stakeholder interviews claims flow analysis and hands-on review of operational scenarios
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Commercial Lines product Claims initiatives. 
• Understands and communicates the product vision roadmap and priorities for Commercial Lines products in alignment with the Product Manager and business stakeholders. 
• Define user stories acceptance criteria and edge cases that reflect real claims behavior not happy paths
• Collaborate with engineering on solution design tradeoffs and sequencing
• Participating in SDLC activities including backlog grooming sprint planning UAT coordination and release validation
• Ensure claims functionality aligns with SLAs regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
• Clearly communicate roadmap progress risks and outcomes to internal stakeholders
• Cultivates a product mindset ensuring team-level understanding and alignment with product strategy throughout development and innovation activities navigating ambiguity and embracing change.
• Owns manages and regularly prioritizes the user story backlog. Refines features and user stories in collaboration with the Business Analyst.
• Leads demonstration of business value and guides teams through agile ceremonies program planning defect remediation and continuous improvement activities.
• Proactively manages team-level dependencies adapting delivery plans and communicating impacts as appropriate.
• Collaboratively manages measurement and tracking of outcomes and status reporting at the team level.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience working on claims systems (P&C insurance)
• Strong understanding of claims
• Comfort working with data (SQL or analytics tools) to validate assumptions and outcomes
• Experience with Bureau reporting and statistical reporting
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially for explaining complex workflows clearly

Technical Knowledge:

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum SAFe).
• Strong understanding of Claims workflow within P&C insurance specially Commercial Lines
• Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g. Jira Azure DevOps Confluence).
• General understanding of software development principles to effectively communicate with the development team and understand their challenges.

Preferred certifications

• CSPO SAFE POPM
• Any P&C insurance certification and/or claims
