Job Summary

Summary Statement

The incumbent supports the daily operation of the permanency program through a variety of functions including supporting the adoption unit reviewing and analyzing foster care placement information on Kids in Custody placement reports tracking and reviewing FOCUS database information for children in each region to be reviewed by the Permanency Planning Committee (PPC) maintaining regional lists of children in foster care who need to be reviewed by the PPC maintaining a spreadsheet of foster care children that have been reviewed by PPC preparing for all PPC meetings attending PPC meetings and recording and disseminating meeting minutes. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining regional review lists including PPC decisions and other data maintaining spreadsheets listing foster care children assisting with DELAdopt listing researching adoption information requests and completing other duties as assigned.

  • Assists in the development of regional or statewide programs designed to meet departmental objectives in accordance with state and federal regulations; Participates in planning activities for programs provided by regional statewide and/or community service organizations.
  • Provides technical assistance to community based organizations and private agencies to coordinate program planning and resource development in order to assist in improving service delivery.
  • In conjunction with superiors works with administrative and program staff in other public and private agencies to evaluate preliminary project results identify service delivery problems and program deficiencies and to reformulate specific objectives to be accomplished.
  • Participates in the development of grant proposals to obtain funding for new programs and services.
  • Conducts needs assessment; Develops data collection instruments; Assists in the compilation analysis and evaluation of data; Participates in the development of plans for new or revised programs under supervision; Prepares requests for proposals and submits for approval.
  • Monitors programs contracted to private agencies; conducts on-site reviews of contractual services to evaluate methods of operation staffing and compliance with program treatment goals; Prepares report of findings and recommendations for action by superiors.
  • Prepares a variety of reports regarding program activities.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new or revised programs under the direction of higher level administrators.
  • May participate and/or provide staff support to committees and task forces studying current programs ability to meet current needs of communities and targeted population on a statewide or regional basis.

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Family Services Program Analyst
Applicants must have education training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
  1. Six months experience in health or human services worksuch as applying theories principles laws and practices of health or human services programs and services that assist with and improve life for individuals families or communities such as financial support employment unemployment housing health care disease prevention substance abuse child protective services physical/mental health treatment and prevention or rehabilitation.
  2. Six months experience in program evaluation which includes evaluating programs and services to identify problems determine compliance and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency to ensure program goals and overall objectives are met.
  3. Six months experience in interpreting laws rules regulations standards policies and procedures.
  4. Six months experience indescriptive statistics such as the mean median mode or standard deviation.
  5. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
