Raytheon has an opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer II to join our Surveillance Sensor Radio Frequency (RF) Solutions Engineering Team in the Dallas TX area. We encourage curious creative problem solvers to join our team of bright dedicated software craftspeople in designing and implementing highly innovative systems. The Software organization develops software applications including integration and test on missiles launchers radars naval systems fire control and other complex systems. Our precision software and firmware integrate operating systems device drivers networking and control software to bring together sensors guidance and flight control processing features to complete the mission. The Software organization is made up of several Centers located across the country responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle. What You Will Do

• Assist and participate in the requirements design development and testing of real-time embedded software application software and tools to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems.
• Design code test integrate and document software solutions.
• Participate in internal review of software components and systems.
• Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
• Work on problems with defined scope schedule and expectations.
• Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products.
• This position may require occasional business-related travel.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in developing testing and integrating real-time software applications written in C or closely related software languages.
• Experience in computer scripting languages such as Python/Shell/Perl.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Active and transferrable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Development experience on Linux VxWorks or other Real Time Operating Systems.
• Experience working in lab environments with physical hardware (e.g. test benches simulators).
• Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
• Experience with product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process.
• Experience with DevSecOps pipeline implementation and use including Static Code Analysis Automated Build and Automated Test techniques using continuous integration/continuous delivery with Test-Driven Development approach.
• Hands-on experience with Git for version control and GitLab for repository management.

The salary range for this role is 68900 USD - 131100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
