Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medical Surgical
Location: Rochester NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule & Compensation
Pay Rate: Up to $32.00/hour
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
Weekends: Every other weekend required (no block scheduling)
Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a high-volume Medical Surgical unit within a large acute-care hospital setting in Rochester New York. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced tertiary-care environment while managing individual patient assignments with collaborative RN support.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provide direct bedside care and manage assigned patients within the MedSurg unit
Clinical Duties: Administer medications perform wound care and assist with activities of daily living in accordance with scope of practice
Documentation: Accurately document patient care using Epic electronic medical records
Team Collaboration: Work closely with RNs physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe effective patient outcomes
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
Licensure: Active New York State LPN license (must be in hand at time of submission)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent hospital-based MedSurg experience
Systems: Epic charting experience strongly preferred
Skills: Strong clinical judgment independence in practice and excellent teamwork skills
