  • Temporary (Up to Date 30 June 2027) full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity with possibility of extension
  • Office location is Parramatta - hybrid working supported
  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $124322 to $138494 super

About the role

Our Accreditation and Training Team are currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer to provide operational policy advice and the development of complex policy and educational initiatives to support the effective delivery of biodiversity conservation programs. This role enables the organisation to achieve its environmental objectives by ensuring the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme and related programs are supported by clear consistent and fit-for-purpose policy and education frameworks.

As a Senior Project Officer BOS Training you will be joining a small team with responsible for coordinating and delivering the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method accreditation and renewal training programs. The training programs are delivered virtually with field days split between Sydney and Newcastle.

Key Responsibilities

  • provide clear and effective communication of course content to attendees
  • lead the coordination of course field days
  • support the Accreditation Team with clear course outcomes
  • collaborate with the training team for the ongoing improvement of the course materials.

About You

To be successful you will have experience working with an appropriate level of autonomy under an agreed work plan and exercising sound decisionmaking within your delegated authority. You will also have a demonstrated ability to:

  • deliver assigned tasks effectively while receiving guidance from your supervisor/manager on work priorities complex issues and matters requiring higherlevel decisionmaking and
  • engage with course attendees on programs requirements and performance feedback and guidance.

Essential requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in adult education and an appropriate training qualification such as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Understanding of the role and function of Government with respect to biodiversity conservation policy and legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with technical and scientific information in the context of environmental programs including operational policy and program development.
  • Understanding of the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme and Biodiversity Assessment Method including the use of BOAMS and BAM-C.
